Ms Kim Rooney
Bar Council Member and Chairman of the International Practice Development Committee, Hong Kong Bar Association

Kim Rooney is an international arbitrator and barrister. Before being called as a barrister in 2010, she was a partner of White & Case LLP, heading its Asian dispute resolution practice from Hong Kong. Kim serves as an arbitrator and counsel in international arbitrations involving construction and infrastructure, commercial, energy and power, finance, investor/State, patents and technology licensing and rights, joint venture, shareholders, and trade disputes. She is on the panels of various arbitral institutions including of CIETAC and the HKIAC. She has represented Governments and ministries, state owned enterprises, multilateral agencies and multinational corporations.

Kim’s other roles include chairing the Hong Kong Law Reform Commission’s Subcommittee on Third Party Funding for Arbitration, and the Hong Kong Bar Association (HKBA)’s Special Committee on International Practice Development; serving as a member of the Hong Kong Government’s Advisory Committee on Promotion of Arbitration in Hong Kong and its Committee on the Provision of Space in the Legal Hub; of the ICC Arbitration Commission, and the HKBA Council. She is a senior expert in ADR in a EU funded project working with the Indonesia Investment Co-ordinating Board (BKPM).
